John Edwards is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Environmentalist who first started investigating moisture problems in buildings in 1981.
John is a practitioner at Edwards Hart Consultants, where he has been dealing with moisture problems in a variety of buildings, ranging from social housing to Castles and even a cold war nuclear bunker. He is also a part time educator specialising in everything to do with existing buildings. This includes a part time professor role at the University of Wales Trinity St David.
A member of panels producing standards such BSI’s PAS 2030, PAS 2035 and PAS 2038 on retrofit and the new British Standard for retrofit assessment BS 40104 as well as lead author of BS 7913, the British Standard for building conservation, John created one of the very few qualifications in Damp, Mould and Condensation in Buildings, achieving a Level 3 qualification with a unique and clear focus on moisture issues created by retrofit and the impact and challenge of Awaabs Law.
