With 20 years' experience with the emergency services, John has worked for approximately 5 of those as Watch Manager in the fire safety department with Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service as Fire Safety Inspecting Officer.  

John also worked for Imperial College London for 5 years as Head of Health, Safety and Fire and as Director of Operations for Keystone Fire Safety Ltd and then Fire Engineering Manager with the John Lewis Partnership.

Currently he is Director of his own company Zac Thomas Safety Ltd and holds a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety, a Masters Degree in Risk and Safety Leadership and is a BAFE SP205 Validator and assessor for a private company who run the Level 3 and 4 Fire Safety courses.
